First they held a din­ner at the Celtic Royal Ho­tel on Oc­to­ber 17, where mem­bers com­peted in a quiz on how much they re­mem­bered about 1968. The cel­e­bra­tions con­tin­ued at the monthly meet­ing, which was also their AGM, when Carol Wil­liams was re-elected Pres­i­dent. The com­mit­tee had pre­pared re­fresh­ments in 60s style, and mem­bers rem­i­nisced about what they were do­ing in 1968. Welsh singer-song­writer Nesdi Jones will visit her home­town of Cric­ci­eth on Thurs­day evening,Novem­ber 29 at 5.30pm to of­fi­cially switch on Cric­ci­eth’s Christ­mas lights and en­joy the Christ­mas at­mos­phere as shops stay open late for shop­ping spe­cials. Lo­cal chil­dren will sing car­ols and Santa’s Grotto will be open at the Prince of Wales. Mak­ing the evening ex­tra spe­cial will be a per­for­mance by Cor Meibion Dwyfor (who will later sing at the Bryn Hir). This late night shop­ping and switch on of the town’s Christ­mas lights is a tremen­dous suc­cess each year as busi­nesses and lo­cal or­gan­i­sa­tions pull to­gether to ar­range the evening.
