Port take spoils on derby day

LEAD­ERS Porth­madog beat Pwll­heli Sub­way War­riors 33-28 in a high-scor­ing, top-of-thetable derby in Di­vi­sion Two of the Gwynedd and An­gle­sey Win­ter Net­ball League last Tues­day.

Player of the match for win­ners Port was Aimee Brookes, while named best for the War­riors was Tabi Tom­lin­son.

Llangefni ran out wor­thy 23-10 win­ners over Som­breros.

The first quar­ter saw Cefni hold a nar­row 5-3 lead, but the An­gle­sey side steadily in­creased their ad­van­tage for the rest of the match.

Dreigiau Bryn­refs Ar­fon de­feated Ami­gos 34-17.

Bryn­refs were just 7-6 up af­ter the first and 14-9 at half time, but had much the bet­ter of the sec­ond two quar­ters.

Pwll­heli Wild­cats saw off Wal­ibees 21-14, but it was close at half time with the Llyn side just 11-9 to the good.
