Gwynedd Community Chest grants for sports clubs up for grabs

-

GRANTS of up to £1,500 are available to local sports clubs through the Gwynedd Community Chest.

The funding provides support to various clubs and organisations who are involved in sports and physical fitness activities across the county, with the aim of providing better sporting opportunities for Gwynedd residents.

There is no need to be a sports club to apply - community village halls and local committees can submit an application if they are eager to develop physical activities within their community.

Councillor Craig ab Iago, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member said: “The purpose of this fund is to promote a variety of sports across Gwynedd. As a Council, we recognise the importance of sports clubs and organisations, and it’s important we provide as much support as we can for them to succeed.

“I would encourage any club or sports organisation in Gwynedd who believe they are eligible for financial support from the Community Chest to submit an application.

“A grant of this kind can help clubs to develop despite in the current challenging financial times.”

The next closing date for submitting applications is 10 January 2019.

Applications should be submitted before mid-day.

You can fill in an application form online by visiting Sports Wales website. www.sports. wales (Funding-GrantsCommunity Chest) and click on ‘Apply Online’.
