PWLLHELI BLANKETEER­S: meet at St Peter’s Church on the last Friday of every month from 10am-noon. Beginners welcome. Instructio­n given. Knit or crochet squares or strips to make into blankets for those in need locally. Donations of wool, squares and strips are welcome at any time and can be left in the basket in the church.

BANC BWYD PWLLHELI FOODBANK: The Foodbank is still busy with the ongoing problems of debt and benefit delays making life difficult for many. It is increasing its efforts to suggest that customers ask for help from appropriat­e agencies to decrease their dependence on help from the Foodbank. In July it gave out a total of 34 food packs, 17 to single people, 14 to in and 3 to couples. It currently has plenty of baked beans, but is always in need of UHT milk, tinned vegetables and fruit and toiletry items, including toilet roll (such an essential in any household). Ahuge thank you to the marvellous volunteers who make this important work happen with their kind and welcoming attitude to customers, trying hard to minimise the awkwardnes­s many people feel when coming for help the first time.

LLANNOR CHURCH AFTERNOON TEA: Come to the Ganolfan, Llannor, for a delicious afternoon tea including a panad, sandwiches and cakes on August 17 between 1-3pm. £4 per person. There will also be a raffle.
