What are you best known for?

We have released five albums (we will be bringing a new one with us) and have appeared at various big events in Europe such as Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland and Tonder Festival in Denmark. We have also toured in the UK and always received a very warm reception.

Tell us something about yourself.

Musician from Zion National Park, Utah.

How would you describe your music?

American Desert

Music.

Do you have any gigs/tours coming up?

The Blue Sky, Bangor, on Friday, September 6.

What can people expect from your gigs?

Best to let the critics have their say:

“An ethereal magic puts them in a field of one” – Acoustic magazine. “Hugely atmospheric” – Folk Radio UK.

“Soulful grooves, good-time revelry and a keen affinity for the stark, deceptively beautiful textures and contours of the desert which fuel their visionary spirit” – Songlines magazine.

“Rare music beautifully played and dripping with emotion,” – Blues Matters magazine. Where are you from?: Cannon

Tell us a little known fact about yourself: I am a founding member of the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering. “There’s a serene Zen-like wisdom imparted – the perfect balm after a hectic day…a singular experience that was hugely rewarding on several levels”– AmericanaUK.

Tell us five things which make your set great?

Original material that is inspired by our homeland. Superlative musicianship from three seasoned players. An ability to transport those in the audience who allow themselves to be connected to a different experience. Music that appears to transcend the usual boundaries of genre/style or age group. People invariably tells us the experience has been uplifting. In fact at a recent event, someone said they’d be floating home three inches off the ground.

Q A

Tell us what’s good about the venue

We hear that those who attend love live music and that there’s a young student crowd who have open ears, hearts, eyes and minds. That’s music to our ears.

Q A Q A

Whose music are you listening to?

Nathan Bell and Hoth Brothers.

What are you most proud of musically?

We count Americana big-hitters like Tom Russell, Steve Martin and Martha Scanlan as fans and while we are in the UK for this tour, our brand new video will get its very first airing during a concert to be given by Sting in Salt Lake City.

Q A

What are your up-and-coming plans with your career?

We write continually and hope to release a new studio album in 2020. People we work with in the UK are hoping to get us a slot on the Later with Jools TV show. That would be sweet.
