Llanberis and Llanrug both win

IN the Welsh Alliance League Division One, Tomos Saynor’s 10th minute goal was enough to seal Llanberis a 1-0 result at St Asaph City.

Llanrug United were 3-1 winners over Llandudno Albion, with Alan Mark Owen and Jonathan Sadler (2) on the scoresheet after Dave Maddock had put the visitors in front.

Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs were beaten 4-2 at home by Llanrwst United as a brace apiece from Sam Jones and Callum Parry sealed victory for the visitors, with Sion Roberts and Kieron Ellis on target for the Quarrymen.

Goals from Ashley Owen, Aaron Hughes (2, 1 pen) and Aaron Thomas guided Nantlle Vale to a 4-1 victory at Llandyrnog United with Ross Gilbert scoring a home consolatio­n.

Tom Smith put Penrhyndeu­draeth into an early lead at home to Greenfield but goals from Sam Jones, Connor Hughes and Danny Calvert sealed the win for the Flintshire side.

In Division Two, Carwyn Dafydd, Rhys Parry (2) and Owain Emyr helped Y Felinheli to a 4-2 victory at Gwalchmai as Corey Sinnott and Deion Evans scored for the hosts.

Kinmel Bay overcame Pwllheli 3-1, Matthew Griffiths, Anthony Colquitt and Matthew Marsh-Evans scored for the Conwy side with Gareth Jones-Evans responding.

In the Gwynedd League, Waunfawr were beaten 4-0 by the early leaders Trearddur Bay Bulls. Matty Roberts and Tom Hadley found the net in the first half before topscorer Gwynfor Owen made it seven for the season with a double after the break.

Bangor 1876 saw off Nefyn 3-1 after a good test at Treborth. Player-manager Carl Jones’ left-footed half volley put Nefyn ahead before two goals from Jamie Petrie and a Les Davies strike clinched the win for the newlyforme­d club.

Cai Penny-Williams bagged five goals in Bontnewydd’s 9-3 away thumping of Llanystumd­wy with Dion Allen, Josh Williams, Arwel Pleming and Nathan Lewis bagging the rest for the visitors. Guto Roberts and Mark Godfrey (2) replied.
