Gwledd Conwy Feast 2019

-

VIRTUAL reality minibeasts and a digital minibeast infestation of Plas Mawr, barbecue sensation Chris ‘Foodgasm’ Roberts, a weekend of live music and a farmyard will be just some of the highlights at this year’s Gwledd Conwy Feast.

Farm animals such as pedigree sheep, turkeys, cows, pigs and chickens will be housed in the middle of the Medieval town this year, so will play a central part in the weekend’s festivities.

The Conwy Feast, taking place from October 25 to October 27, has grown into one of Wales’s biggest and most

loved food festivals. It attracts over 150 exhibitors, artisan and street food stalls – with the majority of producers coming from all over Wales. But the festival isn’t just about food, other attractions include the Feast Quayside Bar, displays and demonstrations of traditional building techniques, digital projections and a high-quality craft market, amongst many other things.

During the weekend the whole picturesque town is taken over by the jollities, with venues dotted all over becoming home to a local food market, food hall, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, and there are plenty of activities for the little ones to get involved with including a ‘Mini Beasts’ workshop.

Look out for Welsh storybook character Magi Ann who will be visiting on Saturday morning!

There will be two nights and two full days of music on two stages, the main stage Saturday night line-up will include Pinc Ffloyd, the Welsh Pink Floyd show, North Wales ska band Skariad and headliners festival band The Egg.

A first this year will be an exhibition and mini market showcasing British wool. Conwy used to have an annual Wool Market and the townsfolk are determined to bring it back. Lucy Gawel of Patchwork Sheep will be showing people how they create stunning handmade sheep’s wool rugs in the traditional craft tent.

Entry fees: For £28 (£25.20 if you buy online) a family of two adults and three children can access everything in the core programme including the acoustic stage music marquee and the daytime music in the main stage music marquee.

If it’s only the music you want to hear, then you have the option to buy music tickets to access just the main music marquee on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
