Theatre is just like a second home to Leah

-

THIS week we talk to Leah Marshall, who appears as Rachel in the Grove Park Theatre’s production of One Man Two Guvnors.

Q A Q A

Tell us about your family:

I live in Wrexham with my mum, my step-dad, three sisters and two brothers.

Tell us about your show

I am playing the role of Rachel in One Man Two Guvnors. Written by Richard Bean, One Man, Two Guvnors tells the story of hapless minder Francis, who’s trying his best to work for two different criminals - who if they found out about his deception, will land him in some serious trouble. Set in 1960s Brighton, the play is an update of the classic Italian farce “A Servant of Two Masters”.

It is being performed at Grove Park Theatre in Wrexham.

Q

When is it running from/to?

AIt runs from the 5th to the 14th of September, tickets are available to book now!

Q

What can audiences expect?

A

The audience can look forward to lots of laughs, entertainment, a few songs and a whole lot of fun!

Q

Tell us five things which make your show great? A

The cast, the comedy, the crew, the energy and the audience. Actors feed off the audience’s enjoyment and enthusiasm.

Q

What’s your favourite part of the show

A

Any of Matthew Richards’ (Francis)

monologues in the play; he is one of the most talented actors I’ve ever had the pleasure to work alongside!

Q

Tell us about the costumes:

A

The costumes are great and very fitting for the characters. My mum always said I was a tomboy, although I’m not sure that dressing up as a boy is the best I’ve ever looked.

Q AWhat’s the best song from the performance and who’s it by? The finale song in the performance is my favourite as it is performed by all of us together!

Q A

Tell us what’s good about the venue:

Grove Park Theatre is brilliant because of its incredible community and positive atmosphere! I have been performing there since I was 12 years old so it feels like a second home to me.

Q A

Who is the director and what’s their style? Gemma Richards is the director and she is absolutely hilarious! I’ve known Gemma for many years and she is the best comedy and farce director I’ve ever worked with.

Q A

Tell us a little known fact about yourself:

I am a fully qualified swimming teacher, although I can’t really swim!

Q A

What are your best and worst habits:

My best habit is making awful jokes and my worst habit would probably be my tendency to give out too much information! Q

Who’s the biggest celebrity you’ve met? A

I once met Mark Addy (Game of Thrones) and he gave me some great advice which was to work hard and stay true to yourself, but to remember that “all the best actors never forget to have fun and love what they do.”

Q

Have you ever forgotten your lines?

AI have never forgotten my lines on stage (touch wood!) but plenty of times in rehearsal and had some close shaves on stage.

Q AOnce the tour has finished what are your plans? I will he heading straight back to Manchester for my second year of training in the Arden School of Theatre.
