Make sure of vote as deadlines approach
WITH weeks to go until we elect a new Senedd the deadlines for being able to vote in person, by post or via a proxy are fast approaching.
First of all you need to make sure you are on the register of electors.
If you haven’t received a form detailing who in your household is registered to vote, or you have and your name wasn’t listed, now is the time to sort it out.
To do this you must write to the appropriate electoral registration officer for your county (address below).
Alternatively you can register to vote online at : gov.uk/register-to-vote by 5pm on Monday, April 19 to be able to take part in the Senedd and Police and Crime Commissioner elections, which are held on the same day.
To cast a postal vote you need to contact the electoral registration officer for your county by 5pm on Tuesday, April
20.
If you apply for a proxy vote your completed application form needs to be with your electoral registration officer by 5pm on Tuesday, April
27.
You can get an emergency proxy vote up to 5pm on the day of the election on the grounds of physical incapacity, work or service reasons or to comply with coronavirus guidance.
Any physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday, April
27.
For work/service or coronavirus reasons the person must have become aware that they couldn’t visit the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday, April
