Caravan plans for Eisteddfod site

-

PLANS are in for a new caravan park on the Llyn Peninsula, next to the National Eisteddfod site.

The 40-pitch park with amenities would be built near Bodvel Hall, Boduan.

That venue is due to host the Eisteddfod in 2023 – two years after it was originally planned and then postponed due to the pandemic.

Agent Cynan Consulting said: “The applicant proposes to establish a touring caravan park to provide high-standard accommodation for visitors with the aim of opening the site ready for the National Eisteddfod which will be held on the applicants’ land in 2023.

“The siting and design of the proposed touring caravan park has been sympathetically considered in order to provide a spacious park for visitors whilst maintaining the visual character of the area.

“It is also proposed to create an extensive clawdd [embankment] along the eastern boundary of the park, planted with a native mix of hedging trees which will provide natural screening and habitat for wildlife.”

They added: “The proposed amenity block will be constructed from locally sourced materials and labour which will benefit the local economy whilst reducing the carbon footprint.

“The proposed touring caravan park will provide some employment opportunities in the form of grounds keeping and administration (managing bookings, advertisement, and accounts) whilst also providing high quality accommodation which will boost the local economy.”
