Cyclist killed in crash with van named
A CYCLIST who died after a collision with a van in Gwynedd has been named.
Daniel Owain Evans, 45, was riding his bicycle in the direction of Parc Menai near Bangor on December 9 when he was involved in a crash.
Mr Evans, a health care solutions team leader for Seamas who lived in Felinheli, was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd following the incident on the A487 Faenol Hill near Penrhosgarnedd, but died shortly after arriving.
The inquest into his death was opened last Wednesday in Caernarfon and adjourned.
A provisional cause of death was given as “severe head, neck and chest injuries”.
The van driver, a 38-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been released pending investigations.
