DAREDEVIL SURFERS DEFY AMBER WARNING

-

SURFERS were spotted in the sea off the North Wales coast during Storm Eunice last week.

Two people were pictured taking on the waves off Pwllheli in Gwynedd on Friday, despite warnings about strong winds and high tides.

The thrill-seekers appeared to ignore safety advice from the Met Office, who warned Storm Eunice could bring gusts of up to 100mph.

The images were reportedly captured surfing near Pwllheli’s Gimblet Rock holiday park, which alongside weather warnings, was also subject to a flood warning on Friday.

Safety advice issued by the Met Office urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from the coast.

But the surfers appeared to defy the amber weather warning in place at the time, and ventured out into the choppy waters.

Pictures posted to social media appear to show two people dressed in full-body wetsuits, surfing off the Llŷn Peninsula.
