PORTHMADOG PUB ON AWARD SHORTLIST

TWO North Wales venues have officially been named among Wales’ best pubs for 2022. They make up a list of eight Welsh pubs which will compete for the title of National Pub & Bar of the Year in June.

At the grand final on June 22, 15 regional winners will also be announced – including Wales – as well as the esteemed accolade the overall National Pub & Bar of the Year, which was won by Galvin Green Man in Essex in 2021, WalesOnlin­e reports.

In Wales, the awards have been given to the best pubs from the old eight Welsh counties, which only now exist for ceremonial purposes.

The awards aims to put exemplary businesses across the UK in the national spotlight, showcasing the hospitalit­y industry’s diversity, creativity and vital importance to the UK economy.

The eight best pubs from around Wales’ counties, are:

Golden Fleece Inn, Porthmadog, Gwynedd

The West Arms Country Inn, Llangollen,

The Greyhound Inn and Hotel, Llantrisan­t (Gwent)

The Botanist, Cardiff

The Old House 1147, Llangynwyd, Mid Glamorgan

Britannia Inn, Gower, West Glamorgan

The Stackpole Inn, Stackpole, Dyfed

The Sun Hotel, Llansantff­raid, Powys
