Busy start to the year for panto group fundraisers

-

JANUARY is notoriously a quiet month for everyone, but not the Glan Conwy Panto Group. After months of rehearsals, the cast transformed into their characters, and had the whole of the Church House in Glan Conwy in stitches with their performance of Puss In Boots.

The group also tours the village every Christmas, with Santa visiting children and families. Both events have raised a fantastic £500 for St David’s Hospice.

In addition to this, Ian Morris has also been busy raising additional funds for the Hospice.

He shaved his hair off last year and has been selling his craft goods, which has raised a huge £1,500.

St David’s would like to thank Ian, members of the panto group and the residents of Glan Conwy for their ongoing support of the Hospice.

Ian Morris of Glan Conwy Panto Group said: “We would like to thank those who gave their time to make the Santa visits happen and the community for their generous support.

“Also, a special thank-you to Adrian Owen from the St David’s Hospice for the support and for making us feel welcome at the hospice.”

St David’s Hospice Fundraising Manager, Adrian Owen thanked the group: “The Community of Glan Conwy Panto Group and Ian Morris have been fantastic supporters of St David’s Hospice particularly in 2022.

“Through a combination of Santa visits, craft sales, entertainment nights and head shaves, they have managed to raise over £5000 in the last 12 months.

“For such a small community this is a remarkable achievement which everyone at St David’s Hospice are extremely grateful for.

“The funds will make a huge difference to the services we provide in the community.”
