Join runners taking on Ring of Fire

TAKE on Anglesey’s coastal ultra-marathon Ring O’ Fire for St David’s Hospice!

The Ring O’ Fire is a 135 mile journey around Anglesey’s magnificent coastal path.

This challenge is not for the faint hearted and will see runners race over three consecutive days along the rugged coastline. The extreme distance and variable terrain has sealed the race’s reputation as one of the most challenging ultra-marathons in the British Isles.

The race will take place from 1st September – 3rd September, starting at the Breakwater Park, Holyhead. The entry fee is £100 when you register but is returned in full to your bank account should you wish to register as a charity runner on the condition that you attempt/ complete the race and raise at least £500 for St David’s Hospice.

If you’re up for this challenging race, why not do so whilst support your local hospice?

This year it will cost over £6 million to run St David’s Hospice with just a small percentage of that figure coming from the Welsh Government and Local Health Board. The majority of this comes from community fundraising. None of these costs are passed to the patients, their families or carers, because St David’s Hospice care is free to all.

St David’s Hospice Events and Campaigns Manager Rhian Jacobs said: “We’re really excited to be official charity partners with Ring O’ Fire.

“The Ring O’ Fire is an incredible challenge for any supporter to take on.

“The route will take you along the spectacular Anglesey coastline and within a stone’s throw of the Anglesey Hospice which we proudly opened in 2021. The Satellite unit at Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley allows us to provide palliative care to the people who need us most in our local communities. This year alone it will cost over £400,000 to keep the unit open to our patients and their families.

“Take on this challenge for St David’s Hospice and help us keep our doors open and continue to provide this crucial service.”
