Holiday park plans investment to add units with own pools
UPGRADE plans at one of region’s top holiday parks have been revealed. The Warren near Abersoch is already one of the most luxurious sites in the whole of Wales.
Now owner Haulfryn Ltd has unveiled proposals to raise the bar again.
It wants to upgrade a section of the lodge park - adding new style units with their own individual swim pools.
These would be resistance pools and the work would also involve a major landscape of this section.
Haulfryn said that around £6 million had already recently been spent on upgrading and improvement work at The Warren, with approximately £1.5 million invested in 2022 alone.
A planning statement said: “The planning application is for the upgrading of P site area, including the location of our ‘resistance swim spa’ pools (one on each plot), outdoor amenity areas, together with retaining walls and landscaping on each of the four plots at The Warren.
“There is no expansion of area and no additional pitches.
“The upgrading of this area will raise the standard and quality of accommodation and facilities available at The Warren, providing four resistance swim spa pools (one on each of the four plots) and landscaped features on this area of the park.”
They said the proposal is part of an on-going phased upgrading, which involves:
Removing older style light coloured holiday caravans.
Replacing holiday caravans with units finished in muted and more natural colours.
Removing white upvc fencing and replacing this with darker coloured fencing / traditional stone walling
Amending the orientation of existing pitches to enable additional space to be created between holiday caravans.
They added: “The economic benefits that can be derived from holiday park proposals can be significant with holiday parks contributing significantly to sustainable local communities, by providing a market for local goods and services and facilities.”
The plans will be considered by planners at Cyngor Gwynedd.
