CHEF CHRIS FIRED UP FOR SHOWCASE ON CLIFFTOPS

-

A “FIRE-PIONEERING chef ” from North Wales has been picked to preside over the UK’s most remote restaurant.

Flamebaster Chris Roberts, from Caernarfon, will preside over a pop-up eatery that’s so far off the beaten track, guests will only be able to find it using the what3words mapping system.

The one-of-a-kind restaurant will be set on clifftops on the Jurassic Coast, Dorset, giving guests breathtaking views of the Unesco World Heritage Site. It will be open for one day only,May 24.

S4C star Chris will cook and serve a locally curated menu at 12.30pm. He’s promising guests an “immersive live-fire culinary experience”.

“Fire is where food really began,” he said.

“From the earliest times, cooking over an open flame has been all about bringing people together to share a meal. There’s just something about cooking with fire that creates incredible flavours, textures, and aromas.”

The quirky culinary experience will offer guests a “dramatic yet intimate setting to complement the primal art of live-fire cooking”.

Chris will use his open-flame expertise to deliver a three-course menu using locally sourced ingredients.

After a starter of Burnt Leek and Goats Cheese, Lamb Chops with Spiced Butter will be among the main dishes on offer. To finish, guests will be served up “Burnt Cheesecake”.

The live-fire dining experience is limited to a select number of guests, with 10 tickets up for grabs. To get there, guests must use what3words, which converts GPS coordinates into three-word addresses with a resolution of about three metres.
