Medals galore for Huntingdon
GYMNASTS FROM ACROSS UK COMPETED AT THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS IN LIVERPOOL

HUNTINGDON Gymnastics Club performed exceptionally well at the British Championships in Liverpool.
Uzair Chowdhury in the under 16s took the all-around bronze, with golds on vault and high bar, silver on rings, and bronze on parallel bars.
He competed with team-mate Riley Scarfe competing for the first time at the British, worked well on all six apparatus to come 20th from 36.
Codi Hurd achieved a bronze medal on high bar in the under 14s, with team-mate George Sabine enjoying the experience and also, his first British Championships.
Sol Scott, in under 18s, completed all-around to qualify himself for three apparatus finals, his efforts were rewarded on day two when he became British champion on vault (with a huge 14.585 average) and high bar, narrowly missing another medal on floor.
Finally, in the seniors competition, Jake Jarman took silver in the all-around, with 84.350, only 0.55 off Joe Fraser’s gold place.
Jarman then added British champion titles on the floor, vault and high bar with a silver on pommels, just behind Max Whitlock.
Meanwhile, his team-mate Ryan Cirino also competed really well with some hugely difficult skills to come 16 from 36.
Lailey McConville and Madison Grundy represented the club admirably for the women, at their first British Championships, with McConville coming 44th and Grundy 14th out of 48 gymnasts.
Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is pleased to report that Jarman’s coach Ben Howells, received British gymnastics master coach award and performance of the year coach award.
Coaches Steve Davison and Adam Scott were presented with the award of merit for judging services over many years, and Jarman was also presented with the master gymnast award.
