A MAN has been handed a suspended prison sentence after he made the lives of his victims a “living nightmare” by sending them threatening messages, unwanted food orders and taxis.

Starting in October 2020, Matthew Myles, of Stetchworth Ley, Stetchworth, subjected his victims to 17 months of abuse.

A 54-year-old father, his 20-yearold daughter, and a 75-year-old man were sent a torrent of graphic and threatening messages.

Myles, 32, used multiple fake email addresses and a catfish Facebook account to contact his victims. An app that hides phone numbers allowed Myles to send calls from an anonymous number.

He also arranged unwanted deliveries, food orders and taxis to arrive at the victims’ home addresses in

Lincolnshire and Suffolk, further disrupting their lives.

At Peterborough Crown Court on Tuesday, April 9, Myles was sentenced to 14 months in prison, suspended for two years, after previously pleading guilty to three counts of sending communications of an offensive nature.

He also received a 15-year restraining order forbidding any contact with his victims.

PC Dave Clark, of the East Cambridgeshire neighbourhood policing team, said: “Myles subjected his victims to a living nightmare.

“He is responsible for sending communications which contained threats to life and grossly offensive imagery. These were unwanted and deeply distressing for all of the victims involved.

“I hope this sentence will provide some closure for the victims and assure them that any further contact will lead to a prison sentence.”
