MOK Fest unveils ceilidh line-up

-

CEOL AN AIRE and The Hollow Mountain String Band are tuning up for their MOK Fest debuts this year.

Making a welcome return are support act the Dalriada Connections Band who played a fantastic set at last year’s event and the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band (KSPB).

The hugely popular Obanbased band Ceol an Aire will perform this year’s ceilidh set and promise a night full of ceilidh dancing, songs and tunes.

The five-piece outfit of vocals, piano, guitar, accordion, highland pipes, whistles and drums have been wowing audiences up and down the west coast of Scotland and say they are sure to get you on the dance floor at this year’s ceilidh night on Friday August 19.

They will be joined by The Hollow Mountain String Band whose set takes listeners on a musical journey via bluegrass, old time honky-tonk with a bit of ragtime and blues.

The concert starts with the Dalriada Connections Band who performed so well last year and will feature many of the artists who will be appearing in concerts across the weekend.

Kay Johnston will MC the night, which starts with a performance by KSPB.

Tickets for this hugely popular family event cost £16, with children up to 12 years paying just £8, so get your dancing shoes on for a night to remember.

Tickets for the ceilidh and all festival concerts are on sale locally from AP Taylors and online at www.ticketweb.co.uk or phone 08444 771 000. More details can be obtained at www. mokfest.com or email mokfest@hotmail.co.uk.
