Survivors’ Night ready to rock

-

THIS year’s Mull of Kintyre Music Festival Survivors’ Night is headlined by Campbeltown super-group Slainte Davaar Allstars.

On August 21 the group, which features a selection of some of the best musicians from Campbeltown, will take to the stage on one the most popular nights of the festival.

The night will also see the welcome return of the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band.

Making their debut at the Survivors’ Night are The Shift, who recently performed with their new line-up at the Kintyre Songwriters’ Festival in May.

Headlining the concert are Slainte Davaar Allstars, who have played some fantastic sets since making their first Survivors’ Night appearance in 2012.

Popular

Also playing this year are the ever popular Gilchristians, Deep Joy, brass rock ensemble Il Brasso and folk collective Session A83.

Look out for additional artists to be confirmed.

Event manager Iain Johnston, from JIG Events, said: ‘We are delighted to have the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band back this year to add to the mixture of pop, rock, funk, traditional and brass on stage.

‘We are sure that this year’s Survivors’ Night will be up there with the best nights that made this concert so legendary over the years.’

Tickets for all concerts for the festival, which runs from August 17-21, are available locally from A P Taylors, Main Street Campbeltown, and online from Ticketweb at www. ticketweb.com.
