Sul­tans of Swing prove golf­ing prow­ess

The Sul­tans of Swing proved their prow­ess in Machri­han­ish Golf Club’s Septem­ber Open Am-Am. The team, con­sist­ing of Jim McCallum, Robert McDon­ald, Charles Robertson and Craig Colville, had the best score in the com­pe­ti­tion on Satur­day Septem­ber 8. The com­pe­ti­tion for­mat was teams of four with the best two nett scores at each hole count­ing. A club spokesper­son said: ‘The Sul­tans of Swing re­ally did swing well to re­turn an ex­cel­lent win­ning score of 118. ‘The event was gen­er­ously spon­sored by McFadyens Con­trac­tors which is greatly ap­pre­ci­ated by the golf club and the com­peti­tors. ‘Thanks also to the spon­sors of the spe­cial prizes.’ Full re­sults: 1 J McCallum/R McDon­ald/C Robertson/C Colville (Sul­tans of Swing) 118, 2 G MacMil­lan/G Grant/M Pater­son/P Pater­son (Where’s the Bur­dies?!) 122 (BIH), 3 L Hal­dane/J.
