Dunaverty’s prize-winners presented with silverware
The special guest at Dunaverty Golf Club’s annual prize-giving gave a detailed explanation of the origin of The Open golf competition. Professor David Purdy and a packed clubhouse of members were welcomed to the event by club captain John Marrison. Mr Marrison also paid tribute to greenkeepers David Scullion and Robert Irvine who, despite adverse weather earlier in the year, managed to bring the course to a very high standard. He thanked club steward Will Anderson for his catering throughout the year and the committee members who put in a lot of work this year. There were multiple winners in the ladies’ and men’s sections with Elizabeth Marrison topping the ladies’ section with 10 prizes and Ailie MacBrayne on seven.
