Christmas lights get two thumbs up from Finlay

-

Three-year-old Finlay Casey gave Campbeltown Christmas lights switch-on the thumbs up. He attended last Friday’s event with his sister Orlagh, one, parents Alastair and Kirsteen Casey, grandparents David and Anne Howell and auntie Kathryn Howell. This year, there was no Main Street parade, with the attractions held in Burnside Square instead. Musicians provided the soundtrack from the back of a lorry, transformed into a stage, while fair rides kept the younger spectators entertained until the lights were switched on by two golden ticket winners. Santa even popped into the nearby Salvation Army citadel, with two of his elves, to meet some of the youngsters. For the full story and more photographs, see pages 24 and 25.
