Musical maestro is a conducting champion

-

A Campbeltown conductor is celebrating after his brass band hit the right notes on its way to a fourth consecutive Scottish championship title. Mark Good guided Inverclyde-based Riverside Youth Band to victory in the Development, aged 16-and-under, section at the recent Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships in Perth Concert Hall. It followed victories in the same class in 2017 and 2016, and the 14-and-under class in 2015. The former Campbeltown Grammar School and Dalintober Primary pupil enjoys a busy career as musical director of Riverside Youth and Renfrew Burgh bands, as well as teaching at Inverclyde Music Centre. The 28-year-old combines these roles with his position as a communications officer at his alma mater, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
