Campbeltown coppers save Christmas!
Campbeltown made national headlines this week thanks to the comedy capers of some of the town’s Keystone Cops. Good humoured constables Jack Baker and Jason Millar, both based at Campbeltown Police Station, put on a spoof scene depicting the arrest of the Grinch, a fictional character famous for trying to steal Christmas.
‘Arresting’
Police shared a video and photographs of PC Baker ‘arresting’ the hairy, green character, portrayed by PC Millar, who showed off an impressive imitation of lead actor Jim Carrey’s accent from the 2000 movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Alongside the photographs, officers used the hashtags #NotInOurTown and #ChristmasCheer showing the lighter side of festive policing. The story was picked up and shared on a national newspaper’s website just hours later. The Grinch, a remake of the Dr Seuss tale released in November, is showing at Campbeltown Picture House now.
