Dance school’s thanks

-

Sir, In conjunction with a highly competitive season, James McCorkindale School of Dancing Highland Dancers have been busy throughout 2018 working on their fundraising project. The purpose is to raise money for a Scottish weekend competition in April 2019, taking part in events in Dunfermline and Motherwell, followed by the American Highland Dancing Championships in Las Vegas in July 2019. In addition to our fundraising activities, we have also received wonderful support from Kintyre businesses and organisations and we we are extremely grateful to all of them. As we approach the end of 2018, it marks an appropriate time to acknowledge and thank those involved to date for their much appreciated support. Those supporters are: MACC, McFadyens Contractors, West Kintyre Windfarm Trust, Killegruer Caravan Park, DM Fabrication, Campbeltown Loyal, Campbeltown Co-op, Campbeltown Rotary Club, Peter McKerral & Son, Campbeltown Firemans Club, Campbeltown Motor Company, Southend Parish Church, Glenside Tractors, Howdens, Laura and Jake, Tesco - MOK Run sponsorship, Paul Grumoli - donation, Campbeltown Running Club, Campbeltown Common Good Fund, Kintyre Youth Fund, Campbeltown Inner Wheel, Mr and Mrs Russell Peninver Gardens, Tesco Bags of Help and Tarbert Seafood Festival. Finally, to the public for their continuous support at fundraising events. We are well on our way to achieving our target and when the school re-opens in January, we will continue to work with our projected aim of reaching our ultimate goal. James McCorkindale, Campbeltown.
