Nominate a Campbeltown Citizen of the Year 2018

-

The Rotary Club of Campbeltown has asked the public to nominate a Citizen of the Year and Most Promising Young Musician of the Year, 2018, writes Mark Davey. A Rotary spokesperson said: ‘If you know anyone who has gone the extra mile to help a neighbour, or someone who has worked really hard to raise funds for a worth-while cause, or has given any kind of outstanding service to the community, please nominate that person. ‘Even if your nomination was not successful last year, it could well be worth repeating a previous nomination. ‘If you are unsure of the past recipients of this award, there is a book in the library where the names and citations can be read. Your help is really needed to find a suitable person for the award.’ The Rotary Club also requires nominations for the most promising Young Musician of the Year, who will receive the Norman and Phyllis Milne memorial award. The award includes custody of the engraved cup for one year plus a generous cheque. The Rotary spokesperson added: ‘If you know of anyone, or if there is anyone in your family who has shown outstanding progress during 2018, please nominate.’ Forms for both awards are now available in Keith’s Paper Shop, and advertisements appear in the Courier. Nomination forms for both awards should be left in the Argyll Hotel Campbeltown no later than mid-day on January 31 and should be addressed to the Secretary, Rotary Club of Campbeltown.
