Campbeltown Nursery Centre –
supporting a successful transition to Primary School
Campbeltown Nursery Centre offers free quality early learning and childcare for all children from 3 years until they commence primary school. The Centre benefits from hosting Meadows Under Fives within the building which enables children to access all day care as they can attend sessions at both, along with the lunch club if required. Campbeltown Nursery Centre follows Curriculum for Excellence and offers a range of fun learning activities which supports children’s holistic development. The nursery has an excellent outdoor provision which enables children to participate in a range of fun outdoor learning opportunities through recourses such as the mud kitchen and the bug hotel. Campbeltown Nursery Centre works hard to ensure a successful transition takes place from Nursery to Primary School, regardless of school choice. Although Campbeltown Nursery Centre works in very close partnership with Castlehill Primary School they also work well with all local primary schools to support successful transitions to school meaning parents can make their decisions on school at a later date. Campbeltown Nursery Centre uses various toolkits to track, monitor and plan for children’s learning and has recently revamped their PE Programme which incorporates opportunities for children to participate in a range of sports such as football, swimming, gymnastics and golf.
