Is there interest in a film club?
Movie buffs are in talks about setting up a Campbeltown film club.
The plan, which is in the early stages, is that each week or fortnight, members would meet at Campbeltown Picture House and watch a film of interest – that could be one of the cinema’s normal programme of films, a special Distilled screening, or something which has been requested by the group.
Afterwards, members would head to the cinema’s conference room to have a chat about the film.
A spokesperson said: ‘If it takes off we would look at having guests in to lead the conversation. It will be a social thing as much as anything – perfect for people who want to socialise but need something to focus on so it’s not so scary.’
Anyone who would be interested in joining a film club should contact the Courier so their details can be passed on.
