Welcome to Your Vote week

-

Welcome to Your Vote week – the ideal time to start conversations with young people about democracy, politics and all aspects of voting - which runs until Sunday January 30.

The Electoral Commission has created online resources for young people, and those who work with them, to get the discussion started and help young people find out how to get and use their vote.

In Scotland, young people aged 16 or over can vote in a number of elections, including the local government election which takes place on Thursday May 5 2022.

If you will be 16 by the time of the May election and want to know more about how you can get involved, visit electoralcommission. org.uk/welcome-your-vote/ resources-14-18-year-olds.

Or, if you work with young people, you can find out more about starting conversations about democracy and voting at electoralcommission.org.uk/ welcome-your-vote.

Information about the local government election in Argyll and Bute is updated regularly on the council’s website.
