From florists to a tasty treat, Oban is brimming with fantastic places to tempt you to spend locally. This week we have listed just some of the businesses to visit. Love Oban Vouchers, also known as the Oban Pound, were set up by BID4Oban to encourage spending in local shops, restaurants and businesses . ‘The highly successful initiative helps keep money in Oban and spent with local independents, said BID4Oban chief executive Andrew Spence. Andy added: ‘We have a lot of new local businesses opening in the town and given what we have just been through, it’s clear the town is extremely vibrant and people have the confidence in Oban to invest. We are a destination town and a key hub.’

Why should a business accept the vouchers?

When asked, Andrew Spence from BID4Oban said ‘Love Oban Vouchers support local businesses. They have generated significant sales over the last nine years and encourage customers to Shop Local, Use Local and Buy Local. The face value of the vouchers can be redeemed by the participating business and we aim to credit your account within one week. The scheme is easy to use with minimal paperwork. Any business that wants to accept them can do so by contacting Kay or Andy at the BID4Oban Office.’
