Club members saddle up for pony care coaching
Members of Argyll South Pony Club saddled up for a lesson in pony care at the Rhoin Farm near Campbeltown on Sunday.
The club held an unmounted rally at the farm where Sheila MacCallum and Mairi Ralston taught the young riders how to prepare their ponies for travelling and how to load and unload them safely into trailers.
The importance of correctly fitting saddles and bridles was stressed and there were lots of practice tasks to check that all the lessons taught during the day had been well learned.
‘It was a very successful day and the club is looking forward to many more in 2022,’ said a spokesperson.
