Wind brings down wall

-

Argyll and Bute Council staff quickly cleared a Campbeltown pavement blocked by rubble after a wall blew over in strong winds overnight between Sunday and Monday.

A photograph of the fallen wall covering a section of pavement on Queen Street was shared on social media at 6.30am but by 10am, the pavement had been cleared.

It was not the only damage caused by Storm Franklin – the council employees who cleared the debris off the footpath were on their way to a fallen tree when they saw the rubble and stopped.

They dealt with several fallen trees across Kintyre during the storm.

There were also several reports of smashed windows, fallen fences and damage to farm buildings, mostly in the southern half of the peninsula.
