Crafters and quizzers raise funds for playgroup

-

Campbeltown community turned out in force last Saturday to support two fundraisers for the Southend Playgroup.

A craft fair at Argyll Bowling Club entitled In the Garden attracted a variety of stallholders, the youngest being four-year-old Hannah McPhail.

The fair was organised by fundraising group Nimble Fingers, while refreshments were provided by Vikki’s Kitchen.

In the evening the playgroup hosted a quiz in Southend Village Hall.

Eighteen teams attended and more than £900 was raised, with The Jolly Monday Show also donating £200 worth of brand new toys.

A Southend Playgroup committee spokesperson said: ‘A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the night a success as well as everyone who kindly sold tickets and donated raffle prizes and toys over the last few weeks.’

The group also thanked quiz host Helen

Gilchrist who also gave a £200 football card donation.
