Call for local musicians for Kintyre Songwriters Festival
The 13th annual Kintyre Songwriters Festival will be held in Campbeltown on the first weekend in July (1-3).
The festival was set up to let locals hear the music of local songwriters and support the performing arts in Kintyre and aims to accommodate as many local performers as possible.
So if you write and/or perform songs the organisers want to hear from you.
Spaces for performers at the festival are limited so to ensure that local talent can be given priority organisers are urging local musicians, singer-songwriters, bands and groups of any genre who are interested in getting involved to contact info@kintyresongwritersfestival.co.uk or to send a message to the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/kintyresongwritersfestival before the closing date of Friday April 1 to register their interest.
Non-performing local songwriters, who are interested in having their material performed at the festival, should also get in touch.
The event has attracted performers from as far afield as Barcelona, Los Angeles and Berlin with previous guests including top Scottish acts
like Roddy Woomble, Mull Historical Society, Frightened Rabbit, Pronto Mama, Rachel Sermanni and Admiral Fallow.
