Beware on and near the sea

-

Living in a coastal town, we must all be aware how dangerous and unforgiving the sea can be.

The recent warm weather and longer nights may be encouraging people to enjoy the outdoors more but please take extra care if you are in, on or near the sea.

Pay particular attention to the tide times for visiting Davaar Island; although it may look as though you’ll have time to make it back to the mainland, the tide can come in very quickly.

The town’s RNLI volunteer heroes are in their roles because they want to help but let’s not call them out for easily avoidable incidents.

Farewell, Miss Stewart

The Campbeltown community is saying goodbye to Sam Stewart, acting grammar head teacher, this week.

The school’s improvement under Miss Stewart’s leadership is clear to see and we thank her for proactively engaging with the Courier to help demonstrate that.

Happy April Fool’s Day

With a publication date of April 1, we couldn’t resist a wee April Fool’s Day joke this week but please rest assured there are no sheep and lambs in Kintyre sporting spray-painted emojis – we think! If you know otherwise, please let us know!
