Fifteen ladies took to the course to take part in the April medal competitio­n.

In the first group out, Elizabeth Marrison set the pace for the day coming home with a score of 70 (+5).

However, this was narrowly beaten by Lorna Cook in the following group who carded 69 (+4) and took the lead.

This score was then matched by Margaret MacFarlane in the next group home. Mary McKinnon, in the final group, surpassed all previous scores and carded the best score of the day of 67 (+2) and won the competitio­n.

Result: 1 Mary McKinnon 67 (+2); 2 Lorna Cook 69 (+4) BIH; 3 Margaret MacFarlane 69 (+4) BIH. Lowest gross: Lindsay Garrett 82.

Tarbert

Members gathered last Saturday for the Presidents v Vice Presidents match. Stuart McAllister’s team ran out winners by three matches to one over president Eric MacDougall’s team.

The ladies have a nine-hole Stableford on Thursday April 7; the gents the Fisherman’s Cup on Saturday April 9.
