Rotary raises funds at bric-a-brac sale
Campbeltown Heritage Centre hall’s tables groaned under the weight of the goods for sale at last Saturday’s Rotary Club of Campbeltown bric-a-brac sale.
Shoppers and browsers also foraged under the tables as they searched for bargains.
‘We took just over £1,000 last Saturday and are very pleased to add this money to our charity account,’ said Pat Healey, president of the Rotary Club of Campbeltown. ‘We also collected over £250 for Ukraine. There are just so many ways to give to Ukraine but we will add some of the bric-a-brac money and send £500 off. We very much appreciate the amount and quality of the items donated by the community.
'There is still a lot left so we are going to hold a second sale, focusing on books and the collectable items in a few weeks’ time.’
Gail Edwards, a member of the Rotary Club, said: ‘We are, of course, grateful for all the donations but also to some others who made the day so successful: Jason McCallum at Keeping it Local, the sweetie shop on Main Street for the Ukraine collection jars, and Argyll FM for promotion. Thanks to them and others.’
