Easter egg-stravaganza for primaries rolled out by secondary students
Students from Campbeltown Grammar School (CGS) laid on two egg-cellent fun days for the town’s primary school children before the Easter break.
Third year students from CGS’s Achieve group planned and ran Easter egg hunts at Dalintober and Castlehill primary schools as part of their community award project.
Erin Bird, Ellie Paterson, Levi Richardson, Lewis Graham, Lewis Robert Graham, Aidan Ramsay and James McMillan were the pupils who ran activities at Castlehill, while Cameron McMillan, Linzi Shields, Isla McShannon and Eilidh Powell were in charge of things at Dalintober.
Before the events, the group worked together to complete various tasks including making seasonal bunting, a bunny photobooth and Easter masks.
The S3s wrote letters to the town’s Co-op and Tesco supermarkets asking for donations and emailed the primary schools as part of their planning activities.
Supported by LiveArgyll community learning team’s Jamie Titterton and Dawn Park, the pupils of the Achieve group work towards gaining SQA-accredited qualifications and certificates.
In doing so, they see improvements in their personal, social, academic and employability skills and capabilities, as well as in their confidence and self-esteem, while they engage with education and the wider community through youthled activities and community projects.
The Achieve group would like to thank the Campbeltown Co-op and Tesco stores for their generous donations of Easter eggs.
