Take care near lambing sheep

It was great to see a local walk being promoted in last week’s Campbeltown Courier, but I was a little alarmed to see the route recommended walking through fields at lambing time.

It also said most routes are suitable for dogs on leads but just the sight of a dog can cause a sheep to abort her lamb.

People should absolutely enjoy the outdoors and Kintyre’s stunning scenery and history but I’d recommend completely avoiding fields where there are pregnant sheep and lambs.
