Creative pupils raise cash for Ukraine

-

Drumlemble Primary School pupils got creative to raise money for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The youngsters held a sponsored silence on Friday March 18, during which they reflected on the plight of children affected by the war in Ukraine whose voices cannot be heard as they are caught up in a situation beyond their control.

During the silence, the children coloured in sunflower pictures as they are the national flowers of Ukraine. They also wore wearing yellow and blue clothing to school that day to represent the colours of the Ukrainian national flag.

‘We raised £967.07, £38 of which went to Campbeltown Grammar School's sunflower fundraiser for Ukraine and the remaining £929.07 went directly to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal,’ said a Drumlemble Primary School spokesperson.

‘We are delighted to have raised such a fantastic sum of money and thank the children and their sponsors.’
