West Road overnight surfacing works rescheduled

-

Surfacing improvements to the A83 between Bellochantuy and Glenbarr scheduled to begin last Sunday have been delayed by a week.

Due to operational reasons, the project will now begin on Sunday April 17, for 11 nights.

No work will take place on Fridays or Saturdays. All work is expected to be complete by Monday May 2, subject to weather conditions.

The work will be carried out using a full road closure between 8pm and 5am to protect workers and road-users.

Amnesty periods will be provided at 9pm, 10pm, midnight, 2am and 4am and motorists are encouraged to arrive at the work location prior to these times to ensure they are accommodated.

The A83 will remain open outwith working hours; however, a reduced speed limit will be in place and road-users should drive with care as they will be running on a temporary surface.

Emergency services will be able to pass through the works at all times. Local access for residents and scheduled bus services will be maintained as far as reasonably practicable.

Real-time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www. trafficscotland.org, Twitter at @trafficscotland or via the mobile site my.trafficscotland. org.
