Support for farmers

-

At a time of global financial uncertainty and increasing costs across most sectors, Kintyre farmers’ concerns over new slurry storage regulations are completely understandable.

Nobody wants to see Kintyre polluted, probably least of all our hard-working farmers who have always taken great care to look after their environment, so why are changes being forced across the board?

We hope MSPs and the Scottish Government listen to the concerns of NFU Scotland and other industry experts and reconsider their blanket changes to legislation.

Reuse hub closure

The loss of Kintyre Recycling Limited’s furniture reuse hub will be felt by many, particularly the organisation’s vulnerable staff members.

While KRL’s directors don’t solely blame Argyll and Bute Council’s decision to take recycling in-house, the financial impact of losing the contract will undoubtedly have played a part in the closure, impacting on work opportunities for those with barriers, at the worst possible time.

Hoppy Easter

It was lovely to see the Easter bunny paying a visit to Campbeltown in the run-up to Easter weekend.

Remember you can take part in the Wee Toon Easter Walk on Sunday but goodie bags are limited in number, so hop to it!
