Players’ smashing time with star coach

-

Young badminton aces had a smashing time when a Scotland international player and qualified coach dropped in to Kintyre last weekend.

Members of the Highland Parish and Glenbarr Badminton Clubs received two days’ coaching from Sarah Sidebottom last Saturday and Sunday, in the large sports hall at Campbeltown Grammar School.

The youngsters – 30 players from P4 to S2 – benefited from Sarah’s coaching skills, which they will be able to put to good use when the clubs resume after the summer break.

Sarah was impressed with the players’ ability to listen to and follow instructions and the overall standard of their play. It is hoped there will be further coaching sessions in the future.

Last weekend’s course was made possible thanks to a micro grant from Argyll and Bute Council to support clubs affected by closure due to Covid.
