Heidbangers head overseas
Dunaverty Golf Club’s Heidbangers travelled overseas to take part in a friendly match with members of Arran’s Shiskine Golf Club.
The teams are competing for the inaugural Kilbrannan Cup – a beautiful quaich put forward by the late Bill Brannigan and his wife Linda – which is being played for over two dates, first at Shiskine, then at Dunaverty.
‘A fantastic day was had by all and Dunaverty members would like to thank everyone connected to Shiskine for making it such a pleasure,’ said a Heidbangers spokesperson, ‘from the guys who welcomed us with open arms and the ladies who served us in the tea room, to Stewart Fotheringham and his greenkeeping staff for turning the course out in outstanding condition. We look forward to welcoming Shiskine members to Dunaverty later in the year after the first leg ended 452 to 424 points in favour of Shiskine.’
