Volunteers ‘disheartened’ to find new plant missing

-

A group of volunteers weeding at Campbeltown bus terminus last week were ‘totally disheartened' to find that a new phormium planted there three weeks prior had been dug up and removed. Another had been uprooted and thrown among the other plants. ‘If the gardener who stole the plant, or anyone else who would like to keep this whole area tidy, would like to join us, we would be happy to see you on Wednesdays at 9.30am,' said a member of the volunteer group. ‘Bring your own tools.'

On hearing the news, Saddell Nurseries offered to replace the missing phormium, free of charge, if the volunteers have no luck in retrieving it. So far, it remains missing.
