Indoor bowlers roll up for season prize-giving
Campbeltown Bowling Club’s indoor season prize-giving took place in the clubhouse last Friday.
The evening began with a ladies versus gents friendly game, resulting in a win for the gents on the night.
This was followed by the prize-giving itself, before which president Robert Todd gave a short summation of the season’s open and club competition winners and thanked the members and staff for their work to make it a successful season.
The winners and runners up were then presented with their prizes and trophies as follows:
Ladies: Helen McArthur memorial pairs winners: M MacInnes and E McClelland; runners up: C McEachran and J Hall.
Mixed pairs winners: L Brodie and A Brodie; runners up: M MacIntyre and N
Maguire. John Buchanan memorial singles winner: S Gilchrist; runner up: M MacInnes. Ladies’ championship winner: C McEachran; runner up: S Gilchrist.
Gents: Monday afternoon league winners: J Mason and M MacPherson. Tuesday night rinks winner: A Brodie Snr. Mixed pairs winners: R Coffield and S Rochford; runners up: A Brodie and A Brodie Snr. Gents’ pairs winners: D Brown and G Reid; runners up: G Allan and A Brodie Snr. J Bannatyne Cup winner: H McCorkindale; runner up: A McSporran. I Johnston Cup winner: R Coffield; runner up: R Todd. B & D Cup winner: A Brodie; runner up: H McCorkindale. Burnett Cup winner: G Semple; runner up: D Brown. Gents’ championship winner: H McCorkindale; runner up: R Todd.
Club members then enjoyed a buffet meal and further friendly bowls games to round off a very pleasant evening.
