Have your say on care programme’s progess
A year after launching its joint strategic plan for 20222025, Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) wants to know if the programme is making a difference to residents' lives.
The “aspirational and ambitious” plan has the following four key tenets which should inform everything the HSCP does: prevention, early intervention and enablement; choice and control and innovation; living well and active citizenship; community co-production (working with communities to produce local community services).
Members of the public are being invited to a number of drop-in events across the area to share their views on how the partnership is doing, what is working well, what are the challenges and barriers to accessing services and what can the HSCP do differently to improve this.
These community events will be held at the following venues: Oban Atlantis Centre Function Room, Monday April 17, 11am-1pm; Campbeltown Town Hall, Tuesday April 18, 10.30pm-12.30pm; Lochgilphead Community Centre Hall, Thursday April 27, 10.30am-12.30pm; Inveraray Nicoll Hall, Thursday April 27, 2.30pm4.30pm; Helensburgh Civic Centre Annex 1, Thursday April 27, 10.30am-12.30pm; Dunoon Queens Main Hall, Thursday May 4, 10.30am12.30pm; and Bute Discovery Centre Exhibition, Thursday May 4, 2.30pm-4.30pm.
The HSCP is also focusing this year on women's health and would love to hear about how women and girls are accessing sexual health, menopause and maternity services.
“We know that there is a lot of work happening across the HSCP to meet the priorities within our strategic plan,” said Fiona Davies, Argyll and Bute HSCP chief officer, “and as part of this work, it is key that we continue to have conversations with our local communities to see if our transformation agenda is making a real positive difference.
“These conversations with the people of Argyll and Bute are so important and will greatly assist us in the planning and development of services over the coming months and years.
“We are also keen to find out how we are doing one year in from the launch of our strategic plan and whether the public feel we are keeping to our objectives and priorities outlined in the plan.”
She added: “We know that there are lots of challenges in delivering health and social care services in a remote and rural setting such as Argyll and Bute but, at the same time, this provides opportunities for us to use technology, where appropriate, and increase our local community based practices. We have a real opportunity to share and spread and learn and develop the way we deliver services, preparing us for the future.”
The HSCP also has an anonymous online survey – https:// bit.ly/JSPYear-oneFB – which everyone within Argyll and Bute is welcome to complete.
