Goldschmitt launches new suspensions for Ducato, Sprinter and VW T6
Suspension specialist, Goldschmitt, has launched two new suspension systems for campervans.
The first, Routecomfort Evo, is a set of intelligent comfort suspension struts for Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper/relay and Peugeot Boxer-based campers.
Goldschmitt said that, while the standard suspension on models based on the Ducato (and identical Boxer and Jumper) is “rather annoying” because of its vibrations, judders or even jolts, the Routecomfort suspension struts give a much smoother ride due to their significantly softer spring constant and specially tuned shock absorbers. Now the struts have been upgraded and are equipped with special shock absorbers that ensure optimum damping in all road conditions thanks to their automatic damping force adjustment.
The manufacturer says the new system even ensures extremely stable and safe handling to dampen intensive body movements.
The new suspension struts are available for Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citröen Jumper models from 2006 onwards and are expected to cost in the region of £1,000.
Finally, the German manufacturer has turned its attention to smaller campervans with the launch of a new, more comfortable full air suspension for the rear axle of VW Transporter-based campervans. Besides the proven variants with robust double bellows, the new version uses large-volume conical bellows, which provide greatly enhanced ride comfort on the rear axle. Like the systems with double bellows, the new comfort air spring can also be combined with the proven air suspension struts on the front axle.
The popular Omniroad suspension, which gives the VW Transporter greater off-road capabilities, can also be combined with the new comfort air suspension on the rear axle.
